Sybil UNITE
Ok so i wanted a separate post for this so we could argue/discuss this reunion. Sooo I just bought a plane ticket to fly into BWI on 3/1 and will be flying back on 3/11. I would like to see as many of you as possible and am willing to move around the East coast area provided i can cuddle with someone wherever i go, but it might be easier if we all decided on a place to meet up. From what I understand Nathan has spring break on the weekend of 3/9 and Bill would consider that weekend an option too. What do the rest of you think. Also what city do we think would work for this extravaganza? Also Sluis I miss you dearly and want to know what you are thinking about this proposed man love session. Sooo yeah weigh in on your preferences and lets get the planning going.

Honestly I'm up for whatever. I can essentially host everyone should people be okay with sleeping on a couple airmattresses, couches and a chair and a half combined an odomen - or the floor should that seem more attractive than any of the above mentioned options. I suppose my queen sized bed could host a lucky second soul as well... Just tossin that out there.
ReplyDeleteEither weekend should work regardless of whether its in nyc or baltimore/dc. I'd love for you guys to see my place and whatnot but if dc is more central and easy to organize then we can do that as well.
I'm happy with either place--whatever people prefer is fine. I unfortunately can only do the weekend of the 9th now (even though that's not my spring break) because I have a wedding on the third.
ReplyDeleteThe 9th certainly works for me. Either place sounds good, as well. I can host everyone in Baltimore or all could stay at my parents' in DC. New York would also be awesome. Bill, did you say you've NEVER been? I would love to witness Grand Rapids ---> NYC living.
ReplyDeletei can't even make it until 2:00 am 99% of the time, so I'm not sure how this country boy could handle bars that close at 4. also, aren't buildings over 10 stories tall against zoning ordinances?
ReplyDeleteThe 9th will be good for me, too. As far as the DC vs. NYC vs. Baltimore decision -- we've already done DC/B'more and haven't done NYC; three of us are already in DC so it would be very convenient; in NYC, Bill gets to be the adorable country mouse in the big city; there are non-parental housing options in B'more and NYC.
ReplyDeleteWe could vote on it. With five of us in for now my math skills say that a tie is unlikely. It probably matters whether DC and B'more are one option or two, though.
I say DC&Bmore count as 1 vote to make things easier. The Duke/Nathan home base would be awesome, but we did it once before (albeit not with everyone, but still). My vote is for a New York adventure. Why is our blog clock set to Pacific time?
ReplyDeleteIf Bill has never been he has to come. There's no way of getting around it. Either he has to come during the reunion or immediately before/afterwards. Also, there ARE parents places in nyc (aka my parents place). I could always let you fools run amuck at my apartment and stay with them. Its literally a 10 minute cabride or 20 minute subway ride away.
ReplyDeleteI'll vote NYC, too. It makes the most sense, even if it means I have to get on a bus. Although it looks like an Amtrak round trip can be had for $100. That's cheaper than I thought.
ReplyDeleteit's set to pacific time because you're all moving to california with me. nyc scares me. but the possibility of seeing flori makes me happy. but i also really want to see nathan's mom, so this is a tough decision for me. then again, zoe is in nyc...

ReplyDeleteIf you ever mention my sister again the next reunion will be in your commemoration. I think all are on board for NYC, less James (Sluis it sounds like DC/NYC are both cool if you're able to make it?). I was recently added to a big project at work that's going to be very time intensive the next couple months. There is now an outside chance I'll have to work that weekend but I am proceeding with plans for cocktails and wine coolers.
ReplyDeleteSo not to be the negative nancy but I'm flying out of baltimore at 1pm on Sunday the 11th...so yeah i mean basically that means if we do NYC I can probably only be there for Friday night. Which is fine if you guys are sold on that, but i would rather see you boys for more than one night if at all possible. So yeah sorry to cause controversy here but my vote is baltimore/dc. Clearly a few people can stay at my sister's too.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think that about settles it - DC/Bmore! If I recall correctly, James was the one who suggested the reunion in the first place. I now too have reasons to be in DC that weekend. I was just repri-minded by Hannah that her spring break coincides with all of yours and she will be in town that weekend. In addition I RSVP'd to a friends engagement party that Saturday evening and completely blanked in my earlier big city enthusiasm (it is not a surprise engagement party for you Bill. That's still set for brunch at the strip club Sunday morning). Jakey, are you able to scoot down South?? Sluis, bring the lady friend!

ReplyDeletelol @ "repri-minded." Bill you should be able to get whatever flight into B'more/DC is easiest for you. Between me, Duke, and James there should be someone to get/host you at any given time.
ReplyDeleteI can make it down. But if I come it will probably be on like a 5:30 bus to d.c which probably won't get me in til almost 10 Friday night. I've also promised my buddy Brett next time I go down to D.C. i have to hang with him. I'm not sure if Friday night or Sat night is best but I do have to make sure I go out with him for at least some of the night one of the two nights. Let me know what you think is best. Otherwise I'm excited to see you guys. Billy you should come to NYC and hang with me thursday night tour the city on friday and then take the bus down with me friday night so i don't have to go by myself!
