Just got back from an intensely bug-ridden stay at Tierra de Suenos - http://www.tierradesuenoslodge.com/ - in Costa Rica with Hannah. Did some pretty sweet zip-lining in the rain forest, attempted to surf on some pretty gnarly waves, got ripped off because my spanish is out of order, and had monkeys climb on me. I also found out that the only area of Costa Rica that has a malaria problem is the town of Puerto Viejo, a town 15 minutes away from our lodge that we visited every day. It was a blast. I'm sure you guys will see photos up on fb soon.
The all-elusive job-opportunity still eludes me... but on the bright side I've got an interview with a government office in DC this week. We'll see.
Fun tid-bit: my car was broken into a few weeks ago and they jacked my ipod. Some hoodlum in the district has an entire photo collection of sybil debauchery. Pretty sweet, huh?
Playing soccer, playing video games (rushing attack's just not the same, but Hannah bought guitar hero-- watch out Sluis), mowing lawns, painting houses, and searching for work seem to consume most of time this summer.
Good times are guaranteed if any of you gets the itching to hit up the capital.
That's all for now,
reese's peaces,
duke
That sucks about your car. Did you leave the iPod out? Glovebox is your friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm still thinking about trying to head over there, but I'm starting full time next week so I have a feeling shit's gonna be a little more real around here. When do I have to get there by to catch Naynay before he heads off? Honestly, I think the real problem with my motivation lies with Jake not being east coast. Just walking north or east away form Chicago pulls at my heartstrings.
Until next we meet
Love
